Will We Be a "House-Divided" Next Year....

Holly and I have spent a lot of time visiting colleges over the past year. We have been everywhere it seems. That being said... one of the reasons that Joe and I picked where we live to "retire" was the choice of two awesome public universities within a short drive - Alabama and Auburn. Joey - from day one - was all in for Alabama - Roll Tide! Holly - from day one - had (currently the list has narrowed to four - thank goodness!) a list of Universities a mile long!

Auburn has an amazing Engineering program and Joe and I are thrilled that Holly is considering Auburn as a choice for her future.

Yesterday, Holly was invited by the Auburn admissions office to attend Auburn's homecoming game. So, I loaded up Holly and her friend Jamie and we departed in the weeeeeee hours of the morning.

Auburn won and the girls has a blast! I think they actually enjoyed the long standing tradition of "rolling" Toomer's Corner after a football victory, the most ... followed by some fresh squeezed lemonade for the road trip home!

Did this trip help make up Holly's mind.... not fully... but I think it might have nudged her a notch closer to four years of wearing blue and orange!

There is still a chance that she will make a different decision... but I am now seriously looking at the cool fan stuff for those of us that live in a "House - Divided"! ... and wondering which team I will cheer for during the next four Iron Bowls????

Not Your Average Garden...

All the odd and end big people in our house were busy today. A few playing golf, one at school, one lounging (Joey) on the couch (is that really busy... or getting over the busy of his week as a college student????).

Abby, Lilli, and I decided that we would enjoy a little beautiful weather before the "freezing" overtakes us soon.

We decided on an afternoon trip to the local garden. It is always a fun trip... Abby and Lilli love the wide open spaces and play places and my favorite part is the little deli operated by a few wonderful (cooks) volunteers. They make yummy pasta and chicken salad! So, maybe I go for the food... but really, I go for the photo opportunities! Such a beautiful place!

A Few Odd and End Photos....

Abby getting ready for "Character Day" at school. Her choice... Hermione! Oh how she wants to read the books now that she is a really good reader. We are taking this slow... together! She sure does make a cute member of Gryffindor!

Lilli - as always - with a smile! Even happier because she "inherited" some of Abby's Aussie work boots that are now a little snug for the "Abbster" ! Oh... Lilli has been waiting for these boots!

We spent much of yesterday in the tornado closet... helmets on and mattress ready to cover our heads... I dislike bad weather. But... knowing that we rid ourselves of all pine trees within reach of our home... made me feel so much better!

Daniel's new lock. Some bad boys at school watched over his shoulder and memorized his combination and stole his phone. He did get the phone back... the bad boys were suspended for a few days and return to school tomorrow. The principal is watching out for Daniel... and this new lock will be protecting his locker!

Holly ready for a school dance...

Holly never wears makeup... seriously... not even in her senior pictures did she want to put makeup on. (Have to love that she is so beautiful on the outside naturally and cool enough on the inside to get it! ) Well... she wanted "smokey" eyes for the dance... I tried to oblige! Lilli - who is already LOVING makeup... jumped in for a few sparkles of her own!
Anyone else want some smokey eyes... I don't charge much! : )
